This is one of my very favorite healthy recipes because I love sloppy joes. This is not only healthy recipe but these Sloppy Joes will melt in your mouth. You only problem will be trying to stuff yourself. Get ready for a mouth watering experience.
First, WHAT YOU NEED
- 1 Pound Extra Lean Ground Beef
- 4 Cloves of Garlic Minced
- 1 Onion – Diced
- 1 Can of Small Red or Pinto Beans (Low Sodium Desired)
- 1 Read Pepper Diced
- 1 Jalapeno Minced
- 1 1/2 Cubs of No Salt Added Tomato Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons of Tomato Paste
- 1 Tablespoon of Molasses
- 1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon of Red Wine Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon of Mustard Powder
- 3/4 Teaspoon Salt
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 8 Slices of your favorite non-processed cheese (Optional)
Now comes the buns. So get your favorite ones that you like the best!
- 8 Whole Wheat Burger Buns
- 8 Wheat Oat Flax Burger Buns
- 8 Whole Grain Honey Oat Burger Buns
- 8 Gluten Free Burger Buns

Second, WHAT YOU DO
Brown the meat and the onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minute. Break up the meat into crumbles as you cook it. Drain the pan and discard the lique. Add the jalapeno, garlic, and red pepper. Then cook for 5 more minutes stirring occasionally. Add the rest of the ingredients, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 5 more minutes. There are many great tasting recipes out there. I just really like this one. Yummy in my tummy!
